Mary + Kent had booked us over a year ago, and the anticipation leading up to their wedding day was quite great! Coday and I had a blast photographing their engagement session while taking in a Sacramento River Cats game. (See blog feature here!) We had such a great time hanging out and getting to know more about this super rad couple. Mary and I had also been Facebook friends for quite a while, and shared the same compassion towards animals and others. We are definitely kindred spirits, so bearing witness to the wedding day was a very special time for Coday and I.
Kent + Mary got married at the gorgeous Felton Guild in the Santa Cruz Mountians. We were surrounded by redwoods and loved ones, and the night ended with a bluegrass band. You can never go wrong with a bluegrass band...just saying! Also, I found it super awesome that they had a literal wedding CHEESEcake - stacks of fancy cheeses either sourced or made by their friend and actual CHEESE chef! Did I mention we love cheese?! It was paired with fruit and was quite a hit! I didn't even miss actual cake, it was so good.
There were too many special moments to recount, but here are a few of my favorites: The bride reading from The Velveteen Rabbit at the ceremony, custom Chucks designed by the couple for the whole wedding party, a dance with their pup during the reception, and the power of love between family and friends.
Please enjoy Kent + Mary's beautiful wedding day in the woods. Congrats, you two! We love you a bunch.
