MEET THE ARTISTS

Hey there! We're Laura & Coday. We're married. We're in love. We're TOTAL nerds. We want to make some rad art for you.

California based indie creatives. Addicted to travel. Specializing in art for the eyes and ears. Current branches of service encompass many genres of photography, video production, and a developmental record label. Together, partners in crime (and love) Coday and Laura Marie Anthony are Post & Beam Studios.

MORE ABOUT THE ARTISTS:

Coday Anthony is a multi-instrumentalist musician, singer, songwriter, sound engineer, producer, composer, painter, chef, photographer, videographer, teacher, and esoteric. He grew up in the south, and has spent numerous years soaking in a rich culture, from the plains of Texas to the Mississippi Delta, from Nashville to New Orleans. He is currently working on his third film score, while teaching band and digital music in the Sacramento City Unified School District. Having just released a full-length album of originals titled "Passing Quiet Through the Night" on Post & Beam's newly launched developmental record label, there are plans to announce additional represented artists in 2017. Coday has and continues to have an illustrious career as a stage and studio musician, performing as a permanent member with well-received bands like Drop Dead RedSaid the ShotgunAmalgamationThe Narwhals, and many more.

He lives in Sacramento with his wife Laura Marie Anthony, who is an artist of many mediums. First and foremost, she is a professional photographer and indie filmmaker. When the mood strikes, she finds herself a writer, curator, musician, visual and/or installation artist, among many things.

Laura curates the Artists of Sacramento series, and has successfully shown an art installation for TBD Fest withRetrograde Collectivea nonprofit she is currently helping co-found.  AoS is also helping curate artwork and design the VIP Lounge for First Festival 2017. Her filmmaking efforts have recently helped the short film "Sutro Ruins" become an official selection for ITSA Film Festival. She has recently completed and shown her writing & directorial debut sci-fi short "Coppelius" for multiple audiences, and plans to submit it to the film festival circuit for 2017. Laura also has two major music videos set for release in 2017, another short film in pre-production for 2017, and a mini-series set for filming in 2018.

Here are a few of Laura's favorite things:

Deviously caffeinated white mochas, watching way too much Sci-Fi (Dr. Who, Battlestar Galactica, or Firefly, anyone?) Vincent Van Gogh, snuggle time with my cats Nina Simone, Rufus Wainwright, Barry White and Little Walter, being bff’s with the husband, communing with God, my family & friends, spontaneous visits to SF, Thai food, the smell of paper in bookstores...Tiffany & Co, Radiohead, brunch...the beautiful moments that only my mental camera is quick enough to capture...Paris, New York, the ocean, people watching, going to the drive-in, thrift-shopping, painting, Disneyland, photographing everything, and of course, that delicious and painfully fleeting light at magic hour.

Coday's favorite things are:

Sharing exalted experiences with the very best people this earth has known, experiencing community, witnessing excellence, learning new things, laughing in perfect moments, caring for others, solving a puzzle, providing for my home, doting on my beautiful wife, spoiling my crazy cats, dreaming about the future, talking about society, talking about gear, talking about food and art and God and love, taking a swim, playing golf, reading in a comfy chair in good light, watching movies in a dark theatre, improvising everything, and that first moment when a needle drops onto a record I've never heard. At the root of it all, I love being alive.
